Heidi Swain å 5 DownloadAhh would it be Christmas without a Heidi Swain novel I think not Another absolute gem that was a direct transportation into the story which is what I ve come to gleefully expectIn this delightful tale we evisit Nightingale Suare and the Grow Well crew that have captured my heart from previous novels The focus is on Freya a kind hearted gardener who seemed so sweet and Finn who definitely deserved someone as sweet as Freya Freya comes across as uite shy initially but it was lovely to see her character grow no pun intended and she got eally stuck into the garden and community I was a little worried that I was eading this too soon end Sept before Christmas for a festive novel but I needn t have worried as the majority was the lead up to the main event and with halloween and bonfire night as a background in the early stagesThere is so much to enjoy from Heidi s stories but something I well and truly love is meeting up with characters from previous works it makes me want to e ead the others again to get eacuainted properly Despite it being part of a series this book could absolutely be ead as a standalone however trust me you d be missing out 4 fabulous starsMy many thanks to Simon Schuster UK via Netgalley for allowing me to ead this advanced copy which I have eviewed honestly Thank you so much Simon Schuster UK and netgalley for this ARCThis latest novel by Heidi is just full of sparkles A different type of Chrismas ead for me not one mention of a Christmas Tree but a beautiful Winter garden I would so love to visit hereFreya ups and leaves her job when horrible Jackson inherits the Estate and ends up at the lovely Nightingale Suare working for Luke and Kate What is is store for Freya this chrismas Can Freya have a new start Or go unning back to her pastThis is definitely one to ead whilst cosy on the sofa with a mug of hot chocolate This eview was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I eceived this book for free from Netgalley in exchange for an honest eview This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my eview This book gave me ALL the feels Thank you to Books and The City and Simon and Schuster for letting me take part in this tour and for my copy of this book via Netgalley I am a HUGE fan of Heidi s writing especially her Christmas books In this book we eturn to Nightingale Suare and Prosperous Place This is the third book set here but all can be ead as standalones This is the first time we ve been here for Christmas and it has everything we have come to expect from a Heidi Christmas book Winterfest is definitely something I could get on board with I loved the sound of the sessions and I wish there was something like that I could go to I also always love going to Christmas Markets and for obvious easons there won t be any this year This eally saddens me so I eally enjoyed visiting them through this story Freya has been through so much ecently She has eally had her confidence knocked and is a little eserved to begin with but as the book progresses she eally starts to believe in herself I just loved watching her become so settled and at home I was so happy for her Finn is a eal hunk of a man He s likened to Thor He sounds very "dreamy and if I m honest probably too much man for "and if I m honest probably too much man for He s the sort of man I could appreciate and I can see why Freya falls for him but never the sort of man I would be with His brother Zak on the other hand seems much me and I eally hope we get a book on Zak Little Nell She is so sweet and it was so lovely to watch her blossom That gorgeous little dog just needed a little love and a happy environment which she gets in abundance in her new home The Garden is magnificent I am not green fingered Like not in the slightest but that didn t stop me enjoying it I would absolutely love to visit the Winter Garden It sounds like such a magical place Heidi touches on the subjects of mental health and seasonal affective disorder This book teaches us that just because its cold and dark there are still things to look forward to I think it s a eal message of hope that we need ight now

The sparkling new Christmas novel from the Sunday Times bestselling author Heidi Swain Freya Fuller is estranged from her parents and has been following her childhood dream of becoming a gardener ever since When an opportunity to design a winter garden opens up at a Victorian property in Nightingale Suare Freya jumps at the chance to make a fresh start But while the majority of the esidents are welcoming local artist Finn seems determined to shut her out and wh. Cal copy to place proudly with her other gorgeous booksThanks to simonschusteruk and netgalley for approving me to ead and eview itAnd thank you to heidiswain for continuing to write books that make my heart soar and to help me escape You truly have created the most beautiful locations for your eaders to disappear to and I for one look forward to what s to come in the future When Freya s friend mentor and boss dies she is bereft then when the new owner of the Suffolk estate where she works makes it clear that he has no interest in maintaining the gardens or the house and definitely doesn t want to pay Freya for her work she is devastated But when one door closes another door opens and a chance adio chat show leads her to meet Luke the owner of Nightingale Suare and a job offer to create a Winter GardenSoon Freya is making new friends in the village and is heavily involved in a series of holiday inspired classes think making Christmas puddings Christmas wreathes etc to bring the villagers together and alleviate the symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder which impact Luke in particularThis is the third book in a series about the esidents of Nightingale Suare I haven t ead the others but this can definitely be ead as a stand alone Perfect for fans of Katie Fforde Sue Moorcroft and Kate HewittCute predictable warm and comforting this is an easy ead perfect pre Christmas eading to get you eady for the festive seasonI eceived a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in eturn for an honest eviewBumped for elease and edited for typos Well the ueen of fabulous feel good fiction has done it again What a beautifully written bookI loved evisiting Nightingale Suare and was ooting for Freya and her lovely canine companion Nell to find happiness there I think Finn is my current swainette crushIt was lovely how Freya s beloved friend Eloise helped to push her in the ight directions and comforting that she was there I was sad when I finished it but it s great now having 11 of Heidi s books on my bookshelves to e ead whenever I want to Loved it Thank you Simon Schuster and NetGalley for a copy of The Winter Garden by Heidi Swain I didn t ealise this was book three of a series but you can ead it as a standalone as I have not ead the previous 2 books and I found it easy to know what s going on Freya Fuller is trying to get life back on track after losing her employer and mentor Eloise She is also forced out of her job as a Gardner at Broad Meadows Her parents want her back at the family business as Landscape gardeners But Freya has other ideas when she is offered a job to build a Winter Garden at Prosperous Place and a place to live in Nightingale Suare The place is a small community and she starts making friends "With The Locals Especially "the locals especially the hunky sculptor At first they don t get along but can they sort their differences out in time to finish the Winter garden in TimeThis is the second book from the author I have ead This is a charming heart warming tale of love and friendships turning one s life around Set around Christmas time this is the perfect book to ead on a cold winter s night I loved it 5 stars from me Oh so Lovely To Be Back to be back Nightingale Suare and for Christmas this time When I picked up the book I eally didn t know there was such a thing as a Winter Garden I assumed that the Grow Well sites and the gardens of the house would just be getting turned over during the colder weather but NOW I want to get out there and plant some bulbs using Freya s trick You don t have to be into gardening to enjoy this book I m not and I loved learning all Freya s methodsHeidi Swain always does a great job of taking a character or characters who have had a tough time they e a little down trodden and just trying to make the most of a bad situation and building them up over the course of a novel This time we have Freya and her canine friend Nell and I loved meeting them both What I eally loved though was getting to watch Freya grow and change over the course of this book I loved getting to see her blossom and also we get to see Nell getting a better life and loving her new surroundings too Of course we are back in Nightingale suare for
This Book And Sobook and so get to evisit some of our old friends and catch up with them It was fab to see how Luke and Kate are expanding their family and if you haven t ead the other books with this setting don t worry Heidi explains how they all fit together and who is who so you can get to meet them all at the same time that Freya does The character I eally loved seeing was Chloe and I loved all that we get to learn from her It was wonderful to see her blossom too and I enjoyed eading her side storyline It wouldn t be a Heidi Swain book without the kind of elationship will they won t they that gives you those new omance butterflies Heidi makes use of my favourite om. En Freya's family make a surprise appearance it seems that her new life is about to come crashing down The Winter Garden is the perfect ead this Christmas promising snowfall warm fires and breath taking seasonal omance Perfect for fans of Carole Matthews Cathy Bramley and Sarah Morgan Praise for HEIDI SWAIN'The ueen of feel good' Woman Home 'Full of Heidi’s trademark gentle charm Lock the door pour some mulled wine and settle into this wonderful Christm.
Ance trope in this book and I was ooting for it all the way I also eally loved that we got to see even non straight omance I love when I can see diversity in a book that is organic and not just thrown in there to tick a box and so I love what this writer included for a certain esident of the suare this time This book is very much a winter book ather than a Christmas book which feels a little bit different for this author however it has been ages since I have ead a seasonal book that is just celebrating the season and not tied to a specific holiday and "so if you are looking to kick off your Christmas eading with "if you are looking to kick off your Christmas eading
With A Little Tastera little taster one would be the perfect first winter book of the season I am sure you will be cheering on Freya and Nell throughout just like I was The Winter Garden is the third book in a series of books set in the fictional surroundings of Nightingale Suare Each book in the series is linked by the supporting characters who feature in each story main characters from books one and two become supporting players in later books I believe but can be ead as standalones I have not ead books one and two prior to eading this third book and did not feel that this impacted my enjoyment nor understanding of the plot The book follows the exploits of gardener Freya who finds herself needing a job as the country estate where she used to work has been taken over by a elative of her ecently deceased boss Eloise and is to be sold to developers This change in circumstances leaves Freya feeling ather lost and unsure of herself as she had been very happy working for her sweet elderly boss so having to move on is very difficult for her However she uickly becomes ensconced in her new community at Nightingale Suare as everyone works together to create a beautiful Winter Garden and Winterfest to celebrate the wintry season This is a very easy to ead and gentle sort of book Nightingale Suare is an absolutely idyllic setting it is enhanced by the gorgeous descriptions of both autumn and winter seasons including a nod to the everyone s evergreen favourite Christmas markets which makes The Winter Garden the perfect book to enjoy while sipping a hot chocolate in a big suishy sofa by the fire Christmas time here we come This is also a great book for anyone with green fingers as the passion for gardening practically drips off the pagesThe community of characters are all very warm and friendly with one or two slightly pantomime villain esue characters which adds to the sense that this book is like a big giant cosy hug Although personally I did find myself feeling uite detached from the characters in the novel The community was almost too perfect and therefore any tension or drama that arose just felt very perfunctory and performative I get that the essence of a book like this is just to escape the hectic nature of the eal world for a few hours but I just could never find that enjoyable sense of gleeful abandonment Instead I found myself olling my eyes at the actions of some of the characters in particular the love interest Finn He seemed hostile for no good eason other than the book needed a dramatic plot device to overcome before the two characters could find their happy ever after However I think this is a case of the wrong eader ather than the wrong book The prose is perfectly lovely the pace and setting are deftly handled and the story has a lovely happy ever after feel to it I think I have just ead too many of this type of book in the past and prefer my light hearted eads to have a little sass to their sense of humour Sadly sometimes it s just a case of wrong eader and wrong time But one of the things I eally did enjoy about this book was how it mentioned how much light and getting out into the fresh air is so good for our mental well being the book made eference to Seasonal Affective DisorderSo I still very much ecommend this book to people who enjoy light hearted escapist wintry eads in the un up to the festive period as this has many of the sparkling ingredients that make the season the happiest time of the year Read this if you like Jill Mansell Katie Fforde Trisha Ashley Carole Matthews An e copy of this book was kindly provided to me by the publisher via NetGalley This eview contains my honest thoughts and opinionsThis paperback copy publishing 1st October 2020 Simon and Schuster For eviews and book elated chat check out my blogFollow me on TwitterFriend me on Goodreads Heidi knocks it out of the park once again What a wonderful story I loved Freya and Nell and found the elationships developed around the characters so well I felt I knew them all Reading Heidi s books feel like a snuggly blanket and hot cocoa She weaves her tales so exuisitely that I never want them to end And The Winter Garden was probably up there as my favourite Thanks to Netgalley and SS for the opportunity to ead and eview.
