Surprises people with her extensive baseball knowledge Marco Santiago is the new left fielder for the Goliaths He s the first player Hunter has acuired since taking over the franchise Hunter isn t the type of woman Marco is sually interested in She is all business including her dress and attitude but something about her draws him in even though he knows he should keep his distance Hunter likes everything about Marco but knows as the owner of the team she can t be involved with one of the players The time Marco and Hunter spend together the they are attracted to each other
As The Days Go the days go it becomes harder and harder to fight the strong chemistry simmering between them There is combustible heat between Marco and Hunter from the moment they meet Marco is a sexy blue eyed baseball player and also a nice guy He treats Hunter well knows how to make her feel sexy and I loved when he bought her lingerie I admired how hard Hunter works and how important the team is to her Her baseball knowledge was impressive too Marco and Hunter are dealing with insecurities from their pasts and the last thing they want is to jeopardize their careers Kristina Mathew writes and entertaining story that I enjoyed from start to finish CLICK HERE TO READ MY ENTIRE REVIEW AND OTHERS FROM THIS SERIES ARC generously provided by Netgalley What I lovedFirst of all I have fallen head over in heels in love with Marco Santiago I want of his blue eyes and his hot body and I was want now The chemistry between Hunter and Marco is instant and the author does a great job of portraying that to reader Right away you know that Marco is just plain sexy and I can feel Hunter s attraction to him which makes for one hot and sexy book I also really enjoyed Hunter Collins she didn t annoy me too much although she kind of fits into that clich of what lead female character being very inexperienced sexually versus the male lead I love how much she loves the Goliaths and the lengths she goes to to make this team her family She definitely had a great character development as the story moves along and she is an easy character to relate to and ltimately be one hundred percent on her side Not So MuchI truly enjoyed reading this book and the writing was a huge improvement from the first book There were such great details of Hunter s home Marco s apartment the club house the stadium everything It really added a layer to plot that made me into the story There were times the transition from one scene to the next didn t "go very smoothly in one paragraph they would be outside and in the next they would be Hunter s apartment "very smoothly in one paragraph they would be outside and in the next they would be Hunter s apartment the story got a little a boring and I found myself skipping some sentences to get to the point The premise of this story is great I love the idea of a female team owner and the power struggle that might happen behind the scenesMarco had potential to be incendiarily hot but instead he wasn t I blame the dialogue It s not the Beta thing I love me my good Betas it was the language the word choices the sentences the things he said he just didn t sound like a guy to me He sounded like my best girlfriend Yes super sweetit wasn t his actions It was just how he said thingsI also struggled with connecting to them because they spent so little time on the page in the beginning of the book A lot of the story in the beginning is Marco thinking about wanting her and it messing with his game Hunter thinking about how hot he is and if he s going to come through as a player for her team but they hadn t spent any real time together yetHunter could have been an amazing heroine A niue standing in her world a The Billionaires Unexpected Heir (Illegitimate Heirs uniue but not damaging THANK YOU childhood a woman struggling to balance both her worlds She could have been so much but instead she just became a reflection of where she fit with MarcoThere s not a lot made of her money or her lifestyle I loved this Hunter was just Hunter This wasn t a parade of celebrity to show how important she is or how great her life is But neither was there the constant boo hooing of a less than perfect childhood It was really nice to read a contemp where the backstory was just that in the back but part of the story Instead of how we re getting so many books where the backstory is OH THE TRAGEDY NOW WE LL SPEND DECADES OF PAIN AND TORTURE TO FIND OUR TRUE LOVENo Hunter has issues and so does Marco Yes they both play into the story but in a completely human way I thought this was rea. Ove is to trade for a hot left fielder He's got it all speed power and a desire to win Not to mentionndeniable charm Marco Santiago is tired of being the new player in town After four teams in six years he's facing free agency at the end of the season He wants nothing than a long term contract and a World Series. .
Marco sure has a smart mouth on him nless you have something planned for "Me He Raised An Eyebrow And Flashed "He raised eyebrow and flashed of his dimples He knew all too well how irresistible that smile was Because you own me now So Marco is the type of boy who loves surprises especially if they include Hunter he moved her toward the bed Pulled at the tie around her waist The robe fell open revealing the hot pink lingerie he d had delivered Oh yeah That s like it Marco ttered his appreciation Damn You re beautiful So so beautiful I love the conversations Hunter and Marco have Yes I am He nuzzled her neck scattering kisses along her skin Two seconds ago she had been completely satiated but now desire flooded her and she could devour him again So what is your greatest desire She pulled away needing to put some space between them Besides you He leaned back against the headboard I want what we all want The World Series I want to get you that ring I promisedI love sports romances I love the men in them and I loved this book To read this review and others like it check out my site at wwwhomelovebookscomAs previously mentioned I have an The Change in Di Navarras Plan undying love of baseball And for some reason I have been pickingp every romance book with even the mention of baseball lately Well to be honest I ve been picking p every book with any kind of sport in it or at least that s how it seems As for this one I liked it it was pretty goodFirst things first the baseball I think the baseball was done pretty well in this book I think the inner politics of the sport were well done as well as the dynamics of what goes on behind the scenes to make a baseball team actually function I wouldn t have thought to write a book about a female owner but it s a nice concept and you have to admit when it comes baseball there aren t a lot of women involved so this was a nice chance Although at end I was a little bit bummed at how ickly Hunter was willing to sacrifice herself you ll see what I mean when you read the bookSo Hunter is a pretty good character I liked the whole woman owning a team and being the managing partner it s nice to see women in strong roles I also liked that even though she is wealthy she s simple she is comfortable in simple clothing and nothing about her is over the top Hunter did have some jealous tendencies which is normally something that is annoying to me but Marco is a pro athlete who has women throwing themselves at him so I A Regency Captains Prize understood the jealousy plus she never throws it in his face or makes it a big issue or anything I also really liked the inner turmoil she had about the relationship she was in the team versus her happiness It definitely heightened the dramaMarco I liked a lot I liked that he wasn t a perfect athlete he didn t step out onto the field and command it He had to work hard at getting into the swing of things I liked that along the way he realized that the game isn t decided by one person but rather the team I think it s an important lesson in sports one that so many people forget I have to say I wish that the plot line with his family had been expanded on I felt like it wassed as a catalyst at the end to get Marco to come to the right conclusions to end the book and I really felt like there was meat to the story that could have been fleshed out Plus nothing felt resolved with his father at all But overall I liked how well Marco and Hunter fit together and how dedicated Marco was to making her happy I also liked his inner turmoil about whether he was worthy of Hunter and the dynamics of the bossemployee relationshipOne nitpicky note I thought that the baseball cliches The Bridal Bed used between Marco and Hunter about there relationship was too much So much of the book is baseball driven that it almost walked into that cheesy realm when they wouldse baseball metaphors all the time Other then that I would say if you like baseball and romance this is definitely a book you should check out I look forward to reading books by Kristina Matthews was given a copy of this book to review for Netgalley There is also a review on Cocktails and BooksWORTH THE TRADE is a fast paced entertaining romance about a hot pro baseball player and the woman who owns the team Hunter Collins inherited forty percent of the San Francisco Goliaths baseball team three months ago when her father died Unfortunately she s isn t taken seriously in this male dominated industry Hunter has spent her life around baseball and. More Than A Game #2 A ballplayer and a team owner would give anything for a championship even their hearts After inheriting majority ownership of the San Francisco Goliaths baseball team Hunter Collins wants to prove to herself and the rest of the league that she's got what it takes to build a champion Her first Lly well doneThrough the entire story Marco s success on
field is directly to if he slept with Hunter or not the night before At one point he basically begs her to fly to meet him and has sex with her right before his game to bust a losing streak Yes he keeps telling s he s in love with her but this just was a little too old school co dependent for meSo let s talk sex How many of you just got here from googling that I feel like sex needs to either be mostly emotionalpartially physical or vice versa "as written As a reader I need to either be like OOOHHH "written As a reader I need to either be like OOOHHH Feels The Feels OR Darn that was hot Usually there s both but one is the main point it s what drives the scene The first sex scene for Marco and Hunter didn t really give me either of those and then there was a lot of of the page stuff later so the build wasn t there as much eitherThere was a lot of opportunity there to have them on the page building that emotional connection in those off the page scenes I would have liked to have seenBut where I think this story could have won me over is that the back and forth never really felt smooth So what did I think of the book overallIt had just enough sports for Sports Romance fans but not so much that others would be turned off I did enjoy the story and I really loved Hunter I ll definitely try at least one book in the series The issues I had with this book for the most part were probably this book Every couple is different so I ll be hoping to see the next pair on the page in the earlier parts of the bookIt was fun Fun is good MY EXTENDED REVIEW WHERE I DISCUSS HOW I WOULD USE THIS BOOK TO RULE THE WORLD Stars Expecting the next couple to be a solid 4Romance 6Heroine 6Hero 6Laughter 6Heat Yes but not a lot of sense on the page or overly graphicCheating NopeSeries 2 of More Than A GameCliffhanger NoThis ARC was received thru NetGalley for an honest nbiased review Fans of sports themed romances will find this a The Lawman and the Lady uick and easy read albeit a bit cookie cutter With issues we ve seen before though it s the likable main characters that keep the story engaging as the hero and heroine are both strong willed and trying to be the best they can be with the odds stacked against themHunter grewp with a childhood that was Title Worth The Trade More Than A Game 2Series Yes Can be read as StandaloneAuthor Kristina MathewsRelease Date 7th July 2014Rating 3 StarsCliffhanger No HEA view spoiler Yes hide spoiler A very spicy sports romance involving Hunter the female owner of the Goliaths and Marco her newest player This story has everything forbidden fruit woman in a man s world hunky athlete all kinds of wonderful plots that make this a great summer read If you are a fan of baseball love stories and humor this is the book for you It is the second in the series for Kristin Mathews Here first 3 12 starsHunter took over as managing partner for the San Francisco Goliaths baseball team when her father passed away at the start of the season She is a woman in a man s profession and wants to earn their respect She acuires Marco Santiago in a trade and is convinced he is what her team needs to make it to the World Series but it seems he might be just what her heart ordered tooHunter knows her baseball I am a baseball Mom and I thought Hunter s character was very believable I liked her alot and she is the character that kept me reading Marco was a little flat for me as a character I wanted him to be Marco just seemed to be going through the motions never really embracing the many opportunities he had He talked of the better life he wanted to give his mother but really it was never shown Infamous Bargain until the end He was a character of words but very few actions and emotionsOne good thing about a baseball book you know the timeline of the plot you can t extend the season My favorite scene was one between Hunter and a reporter where she holds her own and shows her baseball knowledge And that baseballnderstanding was a highlight for me as the romance was secondary Sadly I didn t feel a romantic connection no real AWWW moment Some things seemed forced and in a way The Ranchers Surprise Triplets unnecessary just added in not really moving the story along or filling in any holes for meThis book felt like a bridge to me from Book 1 to Book 2 I hope that is the case as Bryce really intrigues me as a character I would also like to see of Johnny and Alice I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley for my honest revie.
