was his sister s roommate Having lost her grandfather to cancer after graduatinghis sister s roommate Having lost her grandfather to cancer after graduating high school she has been happily enveloped by her husband s family and vineyard for sixteen years but now he wants a divorceMackenzie s life is thrown into turmoil She realizes the life she has lived has all belonged to her husband and his family and as much as she longed to be considered a member of the family she was in many ways just an employee to certain members of the family Mackenzie can stay and continue working at the winery or she can risk everything to claim a new future she has only ever dreamed ofI loved this book from start to finish Not only did I go through the range of emotions a women s fiction novel sually takes me through but I got a HEA too Mackenzie is an endearing protagonist It was so satisfying to see her go from just living to emotionally thriving not only in her personal life but in her professional one as well Ms Mallery made me feel as though I was at the vineyard and walking right along with Mackenzie with her vivid descriptions throughout the story The secondary characters come to life on the page some supportive and some surprising good and bad I hated to see them go but was happy with the epilogueI highly recommend this novel Set in the vineyards of the north west part of the USA The Vineyard of Painted Moon introduces s to the important roles of wine producing Chief among them is the winemaker and in this case this would be Mackenzie Dienes and she works for her husband s family business And she is really good at her job passionate to be preciseThe family Well there is Rhys her husband and his sisters Lori Stephanie and Four At job passionate to be preciseThe family Well there is Rhys her husband and his sisters Lori Stephanie and Four At centre of all the action is the matriarch Barbara Some of these characters are likeable and some not so much The story is set off by a lovely man proposing to Barbara and giving her a beautiful ring They look so in love It sets in play for some of the characters the realisation that they are not living either truthful or satisfying lives Some way through the book it clicked with me that Bruno who first appears at the vineyards Summer Solstice party we have met before in another storyI loved the choices Mackenzie made along the way She had a lot to deal with The family is the only one she knows she has no family of her own Stephanie is her best friend she is divorced and struggling rather in life to find passion and meaning Barbara is something else its a wonder all her children are even as sane as they are She is a controlling woman and doesn t seem to know much about nconditional love Her son Rhys I couldn t make sense of We didn t see into his mind but could only judge him by what he says and does I was left feeling sad for himI don t want to give the plot away Don t read the blurb before you start this go straight in which as it happens I did so even the beginning spoilers I didn t have I picked this book The Beast Within (Knights of White up when I was just not finding reading engaging The Vineyard at Painted Moon soon picked mep out of that slump and I loved every minute of the book I kept wanting and The challenges the characters faced the plot the final epilogue all my kind of read Mackenzie Dienes loves her job as a winemaker for her husband s family s winery But when her marriage ends she ickly learns that her mother in law of 16 years Barbara views her as an employee not family She has. Author I Love That Ms Mallery SI love that Ms Mallery s are so easy to glide through and her stories always keep you wanting This one was no different Mackenzie had an almost perfect life It was just that she was living with her what she thought was good friend rather than a lover I was a little shocked with the #changes that took place with Rhys after the word divorce was mentioned I really thought the outcome would be a #that took place with Rhys after the word divorce was mentioned I really thought the outcome would be a different and happier for their relationship turned friendship There was still a HEA just not
The Complete One I Expectedcomplete one I expected how strangely happy I was when a character from another series crossed over into this story As always the author ends on a note that makes me want Will we get another story with Stephanie Even if it s just a novella I would love to see these characters again First off I LOVED this book It has been ite awhile since I read a book that was able to make me laugh cry gasp smile and be frustrated And to actually hate a character I can t remember a book where I hated a character as much as I did Barbara Such incredible writing by Susan Mallery to provide all that in one book There is so much in this story that would be great to discuss with others I can see it relating to similar life experiences for some And providing a few life lessons or at least a make you think situation for others I was so sorry when this book came to an end I wanted to continue to read about Mckenzie s life to see what next happy moment was to come Or how she dealt with the next obstacle I really hope that Susan Mallery continues this in a second book I would recommend this book to anyone I can t wait to see what Susan Mallery writes nextThanks to NetGalley and HN Books for giving me the opportunity to read this one This is a family drama set in the wine country of Walla Walla Washington Mackenzie Dienes married into a family with a vineyard and has become a very talented winemaker She has a great life doing what she loves mostly Then she and her husband decide their marriage isn t working and they decide to divorce Mackenzie has some very difficult choices to make She could stay on as an employee or go out on her own or find another job If she left she could lose everything Her entire life is wrapped The Prodigal Comes Home (Mirror Lake, up in the winery and the family her mother in law is the closest thing to a mother she s ever had her best friend is her husband s sister she loves being a winemaker and has builtite a reputation What should she doSusan Mallery is a talented novelist and I ve enjoyed many of her books this one included The characters are well developed and complex The plot was both compelling and absorbing I enjoyed my time with this storyThanks to HARLEUIN Trade Publishing US Canada through Netgalley for an advance copy This made me cry smile and laugh This story sure was a treat A wonderful change of pace just nice to sit down and relax type of bookWe all know things change Beast Of Darkness (Knights of White uickly in life and the author has crafted a story that reflects on hownexpected changes can actually turn out wonderful as long as you look forward and not behindWith a setting in Napa on a glorious vineyard estate it s not hard to get caught Hawks Way Grooms (Hawks Way up in the essence of the vineyard the smell of the wine and grapes and the level of passion it takes to be a creative in this environment Mallery brings it all tos with her wonderfully descriptive imagery Take me awayThe author shows A Biblical Approach to Developing the Inner Qualities of a Leader us how finding your passion and trusting in yourself to keep moving forward can bring satisfying change and happiness Yes it s easy to get caughtp in sadness and despair but everyone has their niche to explore and succeedWith wonderful characters including a few you will love to hate this story is a wonderful family saga that leaves you with some tears flowing and smiles growing You get a full range of emotion in this classic storyDefinitely one to put on your to read list Thoroughly engag. Step into the vineyard with Susan Mallery’s most irresistible novel yet as one woman searches for the perfect blend of love family and wineMackenzie Dienes seems to have it all a beautiful home close friends and a successful career as an elite winemaker with the family winery There’s just one problem it’s not her family it’s her husband’s In fact ever. Enough money to start over but needs to find someone to want her not just her talentsThis is a very emotional read with lots of life lessons I really can t remember disliking a character as much as BarbaraThanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early copy of this book in excha Let me start by saying if you like family drama then you are going to love this book It is full of family dramaI loved Mackenzie and Bruno oh least I not forget Stephanie too But I had such a distaste for Barbara I hated to see her name on the pageI was in awe of all the vineyards and the wine all sounded so good Mallery out did her self on this one You are in for a surprise and I was so happy how it all ended4 stars and I can t wait for Mallery s next book I m not sually a chick lit person but occasionally I do need a hit Well I had my best fix in a long time via The Vineyard at Painted Moon Susan Mallery did everything right She had some great characters an interesting plot and subplots that remained hot like lava throughout most of the story leading to a page turner for me Those who love this genre will most certainly be fans tooWhile not a wholly original story Ms Mallery manages to keep the reader intrigued MacKenzie is an orphan who looses her grandfather just before college Her dorm mate
